Déogee Moves Into the Attic

A New Friend Arrives

You know that feeling…
when everything around you is new?

New place.
New faces.
And you’re not quite sure where you fit yet.

It can feel a little uncertain…
maybe even a little lonely.

That’s exactly how a small puppy felt the day he arrived in Nana’s Attic.

Meet Déogee the Puppy

Déogee is a sweet little puppy with floppy ears, a gentle heart, and a quiet hope that he’ll find where he belongs.

He may be new…
but his story is just beginning.

A Quiet Arrival in the Attic

There was a soft creak on the attic stairs one sunny afternoon as Nana Dawn climbed up with something tucked carefully in her arms.

The attic was still, just the way it always was when she entered. Sunlight slipped through the little window, warming the wooden floor and making the dust sparkle like tiny stars.

In her hands was a small puppy.

Nana Dawn smiled as she set him down gently on a trunk near the window.

“Well now,” she whispered, patting his head, “I think you’ll like it here.”

And with that, she made her way back down the stairs.

The attic grew quiet once more.

But not for long.

The Attic Comes to Life

As soon as the last creak faded away, the attic began to wake.

Coral lifted her head first. Leo blinked. Benny stretched. Terry gave a little shuffle. Violet Woolsey peeked over from her cozy spot… and Valentina twirled gently into view, as if she had been dancing there all along.

The little puppy opened his eyes wide.

He looked at the beams above, the baskets of yarn, the old trunks, and all the friendly faces now looking back at him.

“Oh!” he said, sitting up quickly.
“This is not where I was before.”

Coral smiled kindly.
“No, it isn’t. This is Nana’s Attic.”

Finding His Place

“I’ve never been in an attic before,” the puppy said softly.

“That’s alright,” Violet said. “Neither had I.”

“You get used to it fast,” Benny added with a grin.

The puppy looked down at his paws.

“Do… do I belong here?”

The attic grew still for just a moment.

Then Coral answered gently,
“If Nana Dawn brought you here, then yes. You belong here.”

Valentina stepped forward, her voice soft as a whisper.
“Everyone who comes here has a place… even if it takes a moment to feel it.”

The puppy’s tail gave a small, hopeful wag.

“My name is Déogee,” he said.

A Story Already Begun

“Was there always this many of you?” Déogee asked after a moment.

“There used to be one more,” Terry said.

“His name was Snowflake,” Violet added quietly.

Déogee tilted his head.
“Where is he?”

Coral smiled.

“He found a home.”

“A real family,” Valentina said with a gentle twirl, “with a little boy who needed him very much.”

“He doesn’t live here anymore,” Leo added, “but he’s exactly where he’s meant to be.”

Déogee’s ears lifted.

“So… he didn’t leave because something was wrong?”

Leo shook his head.
“He left because something was right.”

Déogee thought about that.

And somehow… the attic didn’t feel so uncertain anymore.

Becoming Part of the Attic

“Would you like us to show you around?” Leo asked.

“Oh yes, please,” Déogee said quickly, his tail wagging a little faster.

So the attic friends showed him everything.

The old trunks filled with quiet stories.
The warm window where sunlight poured across the floor.
The soft corners where peaceful thoughts rested.

Valentina even spun in a circle and said,
“This is the best place for dancing.”

By the time they were done, Déogee no longer felt like a visitor.

He felt like a friend.

A Place Called Home

As the day grew softer and the attic settled into its cozy hush, Déogee curled up beside the others.

“I think,” he said sleepily,
“I’m going to like living here.”

Coral smiled.

“We think so too.”

And from that day on, Déogee was no longer just a little puppy looking for his place.

He was one of the attic friends.

And Nana’s Attic was home.

A Gentle Thought to Carry With You

Sometimes a new place feels a little uncertain at first…

…but the right kind of welcome can make it feel like home.
